What it is
Filler is a structural treatment. Used well it supports the cheek, softens the line between cheek and under-eye, refines a jawline or gives shape back to lips that have thinned. Used badly it is obvious from across a room, which is why it is built gradually here: better to see you twice than overfill once.
The appointment
-
A consultation to map where volume has actually gone, which is often not where clients expect.
-
A staged plan. Melissa will frequently treat one area and ask you to live with it before doing more.
-
Numbing, then placement, with cannula or needle depending on the area.
-
A review appointment to look at how it has settled.
- What it is for
-
- Flattening through the cheeks
- Hollowing under the eyes
- A softening jawline
- Lips that have lost shape
- Deepening folds around the mouth
- How it feels
- Numbing comes first. Clients usually describe pressure rather than pain, and a little swelling that settles over the following days.
- Time in the chair
- Around thirty to sixty minutes depending on how many areas are treated.
- Afterwards
- Some swelling or bruising is normal and settles. Melissa will tell you honestly if you have something on the calendar that means you should book for a different week.
Individual results vary. Every treatment begins with a consultation, and Melissa will tell you if a treatment is not right for you.
Start with a consultation.
Tell Melissa what is bothering you and she will tell you honestly what she would do, including when the answer is nothing at all.
