What it is
IPL uses broad-spectrum pulsed light to target pigment and vascular concerns near the surface of the skin: sun spots along the cheeks and chest, diffuse redness, the freckling that arrives after a few too many summers. Suitability depends on your skin type, and Melissa assesses that before booking rather than on the day.
The appointment
-
A consultation and skin assessment, including whether IPL is appropriate for your skin type.
-
Eye protection, then a cool gel across the treatment area.
-
Pulses delivered section by section.
-
Aftercare, including sun protection instructions you will need to follow.
- What it is for
-
- Sun spots on the face
- neck and chest
- Diffuse facial redness
- Uneven tone
- Visible small vessels
- How it feels
- Clients usually describe each pulse as a quick snap, like a light elastic band, with warmth afterwards.
- Time in the chair
- Around thirty to forty-five minutes.
- Afterwards
- Treated pigment often darkens before it lifts away, and the area can look flushed for a day. Sun protection is not optional afterwards, and Melissa will be direct about that.
Individual results vary. Every treatment begins with a consultation, and Melissa will tell you if a treatment is not right for you.
Start with a consultation.
Tell Melissa what is bothering you and she will tell you honestly what she would do, including when the answer is nothing at all.
