What it is
PRP begins with a small blood draw. The sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, which is then applied or injected into the treatment area. Because the material comes from you, nothing synthetic is introduced. Melissa uses it for skin quality across the face and neck, and for the scalp.
The appointment
-
A consultation covering suitability, including anything in your medical history that matters here.
-
A small blood draw in the room.
-
Time in the centrifuge while the plasma separates.
-
Application or injection into the treatment area, depending on the plan.
- What it is for
-
- Skin texture and tone
- Crepiness through the under-eye and neck
- Thinning through the scalp
- Wanting an approach that uses nothing synthetic
- How it feels
- A standard blood draw, then either micro-needling or fine injections. Clients describe warmth and a flushed look for the rest of the day.
- Time in the chair
- Around sixty minutes, including the draw and the spin.
- Afterwards
- Skin often looks pink for the rest of the day. PRP is typically planned as a short series rather than a single visit, and Melissa will set that out at consultation.
Individual results vary. Every treatment begins with a consultation, and Melissa will tell you if a treatment is not right for you.
Start with a consultation.
Tell Melissa what is bothering you and she will tell you honestly what she would do, including when the answer is nothing at all.
